Dorper sheep graze on about four acres of our little farmstead. Dorpers are a meat breed developed in South Africa. They were bred to have hair that sheds naturally, rather than growing a wool coat that needs shorn every year. This makes them better suited to hot, arid climates. The sheep are rotated over the pasture using electric fencing. Rotational grazing reduces the occurrence of disease in the animals and improves soil and forage quality over time. We raise our lambs using organic practices without vaccines, hormones, or the routine use of antibiotics. If you'd like to place an order, fill out and submit the cut sheet below and we'll send an invoice. Quantities are limited and a deposit is collected for advance orders. Please send an email if you're interested in a different quantity of meat or if you have any questions.
If you're not sure which cuts to order, peruse the Recipe page on our site for inspiration on preparing unfamiliar cuts.
